Popscene!

Song: Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll
Game: Street Fighter IV
DVD: 24

Today, I opened up my web browser, went on the NME website and saw an article about the support acts for the Blur gigs in Hyde Park. I was quite excited and clicked on the article to find that Crystal Castles, The Foals and Friendly Fires were supporting, I jumped up with joy...but that was short lived as I discovered that they were supporting on the July 2nd gig, the extra date that was added. I thought to myself, that's a shame but I'm sure on my day, there will be people of equal quality, only to find that Vampire Weekend, Florence and the Machine, Amadou & Mariam and Deerhoof are supporing. WHAT THE FUDGE!, seriously, did they run out of money after signing the first few bands, Florence is like a crap Kate Nash, and shes crap! Vampire Weekend annoy the hell out of me and the other 2 bands I've never heard of.

I'm going to think positive and hope the bands on my day prove me wrong, I can remember goint to see Muse at Wembley and had My Chemical Romance, Biffy Clyro and Shy Child supporting and I wasn't exactly thrilled with that, but they were pretty awesome on the day, really enjoyed some bands I wouldn't normally go see. So hopefully the Vampires and Florence can prove me wrong again and put on a good show.

Anywho, the support acts aren't that big of a deal really as I'm there for the Mighty Blur, been waiting for over 15 years for this. I think as soon as they walk on stage, I'm going to feel like a school girl watching Take That, or something on those lines. What I'm hoping for is when the sun is setting, they play For Tomorrow, that would make my year. Not long to wait now though, YAY!

Marching on Together

Song: Scenario Rock - Skitzo Dancer
Game: NHL 09
DVD: Pretty Persuasion

With the  season drawing to a close, Leeds United took another step closer to cementing a play-off place. We beat Stockport County 1-0 yesterday, thanks to a Jonny Howson goal. We're currently on an 11 game unbeaten run, which has seen us climb from 8th to 5th, having disposed of teams including promotion chasers, Oldham, Scunthorpe and MK Dons. We may of had a shout at getting 2nd if we had beaten Leyton Orient on tuesday, but managed to squander a 2-0 lead and draw the game.

If we don't let our guard down, it looks like we will be heading to our 3rd play-off in 4 years. Having lost to Watford (for a chance to get back into the Premiership) 4 years ago, and then to Doncaster last season, we must make this one count. We have a good set of players, which will have to show the fight and passion to earn this promotion back to the second tier of English football. I think if we don't go up this season, it could be devastating for the club, as many of our stars including Delph, Howson (pictured) Beckford and Becchio are all likely to attract interest from other clubs.

Obviously, we need to secure the play-off place first, its still very tight at the top and anything can happen, just hope we show the right character to finish the job. When and if that is done, there will be the semi-final of the play-off to contend to before the finale at the home of English football, Wembley. So, its all down to the players now to show us their worth and give their all for the club, to take that first step closer back to the big time. I'm already quite nervous, we can't fail this time. Not much else that us fans can do now but pray an hope and get behind the boys and march on together til the very end. MOT

Music Is My Radar

Song: Fall Out Boy - I Don't Care
Game: Call Of Duty 4
DVD: American Dad

Not much to write today, but feel I should write something. I had a look at my most played songs on iTunes. The top 40 most played I have on is quite random, but I like a good variation of things. So, here's my 5 most played songs since 2006.

1.Exitlude - The Killers 84 plays
Probably because its quite a short song, but it is a lovely song to reminisce to. Each time this is played, a montage of the good times of Uni goes through my head.

2.Acceptable in The 80s (Radio Edit) - Calvin Harris 82 plays
Always a good song to play to get the night started. Get you into the mood, ready for some dancing. Cant beat a bit of 80's inspired electro pop.

3.Smile - Lily Allen 73 plays
This song cheers me up, a nice happy song. Played this quite a bit when Lily first appeared on the music scene.

4.When Your Heart Stops Beating - +44 73 plays
Surprise this is so high up, but guess I did play it loads during Uni, nice fast paced song with plenty of emotion in the lyrics.

5.Whoo! Alright-Yeah... Uh Huh - The Rapture 67 plays
A good summery song that I played loads...(in the summer I guess). It's just an upbeat tune that helps motivate me for the day.

My iTunes top 50 most played, its random and some songs are bad, I know

For Reasons Unknown

Song: Kasabian - Vlad The Impaler
Game: The Sims 3
DVD: The Simpsons

Well, its been one of those weeks (Yes, I know its only Wednesday) Don't worry, I'm not going to have a long moan about things, but I'm really struggling to find any energy to care about anything anymore. Today, it was just easier for me to stay quiet and keep my head down. Don't really know why I was feeling like this to be honest, think its just loads of little things building up thats getting to me. Think the lack of sleep probably contributed to me being how I was today as well, (stupid fire alarm at 2 in the morning). Well, I understand that we can't always get our own way, but like I use to say 'Life may not be what we had hoped for, but whilst we are here, lets Dance!' (I do miss a good Dance) But hey, what can we do about it, in the end, it was nice just getting a hug at the end of the day, it doesn't make everything right, but it does make you feel a bit better.

Tomorrow is another day though, hopefully I will have a better sleep and go into work refreshed and ready to go!

Happy up Here

Song: Royksopp - Happy Up here
Game: Resident Evil 5 - Mercenaries
DVD: Wanted

Yesterday was a rather strange day, one that just confused me even more than I already was. Due to my no cakes month, I needed something else to cheer me up, and then I heard Royksopps new song, Happy up Here, taken from their new album, Junior. the song put a smile on my face straight away, just a happy fun song with a fun video. The video is directed by Reuben Sutherland, whos portfolio includes work for Ikea, T-Mobile and Orange. Hes done some pretty nice work in the past.
